From a TORN relationship with God in the garden, to a restored relationship with God through Christ. 

Easter 2011 TORN

Our triune God is by nature a community, and He created men in His own image to glorify Himself through relationship.  God regularly uses marriage vocabulary to describe His relationship to His people.  The marriage relationship between a husband and his bride manifests the very nature of God.  The Bible describes the relationship between husband and wife as "one-flesh".  God hates divorce because dissolving the marriage covenant amounts to the tearing apart of a living organism—a very painful, traumatic, and destructive experience.  It is only when we understand this idea of TORN that we can begin to praise all that God has done to reconciles us back to Himself.  But in order to do that, God Himself, had to be “TORN”.

From the TORN relationship in the garden of Eden, through the TORN body of the Son of God TORN from heaven, toward the TORN curtain of reconciliation we see how God brings himself glory through the redemption of men:
